Preventative Tip For Taking Care of Your Eyes

As we age, taking care of our eyesight is imperative. Diet and exercise are always suggestions for keeping a healthy body, on the inside and out. It's just as true for the welfare of your eyes. The tension put upon our eyes everyday without the proper nutrients, care and exercise, will most assuredly cause the deterioration of one's sight. With the proper care and avoiding the major disastrous elements to our, "windows to the soul," then we can avert one of old age's attributes.

Vitamins and minerals are the fastest and complete way to replenish the body of what has been depleted. Yet, when you distinguish the benefits of each vegetable, fruit, meat, herb and eatable plant, then we come to find that foods like liver, eggs, bananas, asparagus, ginkgo and hundreds or more other foods help protect, prevent and provide our eyes with the same vitamins and minerals found in multivitamins and vitamin supplements. Whichever is preferred, both benefit the welfare of your eyesight and body.

Eyes need exercising and rest also. Use your eyes, don't strain them. Keep from staring at one particular object or area for too long. That means that if your watching TV or working/reading on the computer, take the time to stare away every few minutes so that your eyes don't start drying out and become irritated. The jury is out whether all the things we were told as a child would actually hurt our eyes in the long run, but it's usually better to be safe now than sorry later.
